2025 Year in Review | How SLA Grew Green Schoolyards and Green Jobs

What a year 2025 has been at SLA 🌱

This year, we greened and are still greening 8 schools, removing over 100,000 sq ft of asphalt and turning campuses into green spaces with trees, rain gardens, and places to learn and play.

We completed our first SLA-led green schoolyard grant, expanded pathways into union careers through green jobs, and partnered with the Cities of Huntington Park, Bell, and Bell Gardens to care for parks and medians.
