Our greening project at Lindbergh Childcare Center was made possible through a CAL FIRE Urban and Community Forestry grant, which we proudly applied for and were awarded. The project was thoughtfully designed by our team following a robust community engagement process that included neighborhood workshops, surveys with parents and staff, and hands-on student workshops that gave young learners a voice in shaping their outdoor space. The result is a vibrant, sustainable landscape that reflects the needs and dreams of the community—turning a previously underutilized area into a thriving green space that promotes learning, wellness, and environmental stewardship.
The Pacoima Middle School greening project completely transformed the campus into a vibrant, sustainable space built entirely by our team. Featuring drought-tolerant native plants, a high-efficiency irrigation system, and thoughtful design, the project was rooted in community input and participation. Students, families, and staff helped bring the space to life through planting events and stewardship activities. More than just a landscape upgrade, this project created an outdoor learning environment that fosters environmental awareness, pride, and connection for the entire school community.
SLA works towards building landscapes that are sustainable and foster wellbeing for our clients and the public. Through various construction techniques we strive to build landscapes that will be successful today, tomorrow and for many years to come.
