City Council Praises a Partnership That Delivers Real Results: Our Social Enterprise Model in Action

The following remarks, captured in the video below, show how leadership in Huntington Park is recognizing the impact of our social enterprise model.

Vice Mayor Jonathan Sanabria shared:
“You’re an organization that from when you first submitted your proposal, it was very clear you had a commitment to the community, giving people a second chance, creating a workforce.”

Mayor Eddie Martinez added:
“Regarding workforce development, I really love that. I love that we could engage local residents to uplift their careers and participate in revamping our Salt Lake Park. We should continue to think about those who are at risk of becoming unhoused and how we can give them the opportunity to earn income and build a more stable life.”

Council Member Nancy Martiz highlighted the impact even further:
“For you all to come back and bring the community this grant funding, but then in addition to that, secure even more local jobs for our residents, it feels too good to be true.”

These words reflect what this partnership has delivered.

With early support from REDF through the CA RISE program, we expanded into Huntington Park, Bell, and Bell Gardens, securing long term agreements that created real impact.

More than 30 full time, permanent jobs have been created for people with barriers to employment. Over 50 individuals have graduated from our pre apprenticeship program, gaining real skills, entering career pathways, and being sponsored into unions through our partnerships and MOUs, leading to long term stability and upward mobility.

Now, with a new Los Angeles County grant for Salt Lake Park in Huntington Park, we are continuing that impact by bringing training and employment opportunities to 30 more local residents.

This is more than a project.
This is more than a contract.

This is a model that works and in Huntington Park, it is being recognized and supported.
